Manjushri in Kathmandu Valley / im Kathmandutal

Dieses schöne Thangka Motiv erzählt von der Legende, als der Adi-Buddha auf dem See im Tal von Kathmandu erschien und der Weisheitsgott Manjushri kam, um ihm zu huldigen. Manjushri legte das Tal trocken und konnte dann dem Buddha seine Verehrung erweisen. An dieser Stelle steht heute die Stupa von Swayambu. Auf dem Thangka kann man sie erkennen, wenn man der langen Treppe folgt, die nach oben führt. Malerei mit sehr viel Gold

Dieser Thangka ist bereits geweiht vom Abt eines tibetischen Klosters!

This beautiful Thangka motif tells the story when the Adi Buddha appeared on the lake in the valley of Kathmandu. Manjushri, the God of Wisdom, came and drained the lake. Then he paid homage to the Buddha. At this site today stands the monastery and Stupa Swayambhu (see the long stairs up to the Stupa!). Thangka painting with the use of much gold.

This thangka is consecrated already by the Abbot of a Tibetan monastery!
