Vaisravana oder Jambhala, häufiger bekannt unter dem Namen Kubera, ist einer der vier Weltenhüter (Lokapalas) und ist König der Yakshas. Da er zudem "Hüter der Schätze" ist, wird er vielfach auch als Reichtumsgott verehrt. und herrscht über das Land im Norden des Weltberges Meru als König des mystischen Volkes der Yakshas. Wenn er, wie hier, zornig auftritt, gilt er zudem als Schützer der Lehre und ist dann Dharmapala. Rotgrundthangka unter Verwendung von vielem Gold.
